Avon and Somerset Police have launched an appeal for information after two men were involved in an assault and attempted robbery in Millmead Road in Bath.

Two men, one aged 19, had been out in the city and were walking home through Oldfield Park when they were approached by two older men in a lane by the Victoria Hotel.

The assault happened at around 3am on Thursday 21st May, though the appeal has only just been made public by the police.

One man punched the victim in the face without warning, breaking his nose, and the other told him to hand over his personal property.

His friend called the police and the two men disappeared, heading towards Bath.

Both are described as of Asian appearance.

The one who carried out the assault was 5ft 7ins tall, of average build, in his mid-20s to early 30s, wearing a grey hoody.

The second is 5ft 11ins tall, mid-20s to early 30s, wearing a black hoody and black tracksuit bottoms.

Anyone who saw the incident, or saw the two men described in the area at the time, is asked to call 101 quoting reference number 52694/15.
