A substantial £50,000 reward is on offer for information about an aggravated burglary in the Boyd Valley area near Bath, in which a householder was tied up.

A number of stolen items that are being sought

The burglary happened at about 5.45pm on Thursday 30th August 2017. The householder answered the door and two masked men forced their way in.

The men threatened and tied up the householder and stole high-value jewellery, including:

  • Rolex Deepsea blue watch;
  • Rolex Daytona platinum watch;
  • Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso steel 8-day watch;
  • Kutchinsky 18ct gold cocktail bangle set with 90 princess-cut diamonds;
  • Oval gold snuff box dated 1780;
  • Giacomo Raffaelli snuff box dated 1791;
  • Solitaire ring set with a brilliant-cut diamond.

These items are distinctive and identifiable and detectives are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen them offered for sale.

The offenders were both described as white men aged about 25 to 30 years, with covered faces, wearing dark clothing and high-vis tabards.

One was said to be about 6ft tall, of slim to medium build with short dark hair while the other was about 5ft 10ins tall and of medium build.

It’s believed the men may have made off in a grey or silver Audi A3.

Thankfully the victim did not suffer serious physical injury in the incident, but was left feeling shocked and distressed.

The householder is now offering a substantial reward of up to £50,000 for information leading to an arrest, conviction and recovery of the property.

Anyone with information which could help the investigation can get in touch online, or by calling 101, quoting reference 5217198805.

Alternatively ring the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. They never ask your name or trace your call.
