Magistrates have jailed a 38-year-old man who stole cash and stamps from an office in St Matthew’s Church in Widcombe earlier this month.
The theft happened at about 8.45pm on Wednesday 5th October and the suspect was arrested on Sunday 9th October.
On Tuesday 11th October 38-year-old Paul Harris, of no fixed abode, was jailed for 12 weeks after admitting the church burglary and a theft of perfume from Boots in Bath, and asking the court to take six other thefts into consideration.
He was also ordered to pay compensation and surcharges totalling £625.
