Avon and Somerset Police have charged a 25-year-old man in connection with the rape of a 17-year-old girl near student accommodation on the Lower Bristol Road in Bath on Sunday morning.
Teon Jamal Ballans, of Long Mead Terrace, Bath, has been charged with two counts of rape and possession of an offensive weapon.
The charges relate to the assault which took place in the Lower Bristol Road area of the city at about 6.30am on Sunday morning.
Ballans has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Bath Magistrates’ Court later today.
