Children from 40 schools across Bath entered this year’s Fireworks Safety poster competition, sponsored by Bath Building Society and supported by The Rotary Club of Bath.
The winners of the five categories were given a money voucher to open a Bath Building Society Account, a 51 piece art set and a Bath Building Society goody bag.
The winners were:
Age 4-5 years

3rd: Holly Draper, Combe Down C of E Primary School
Age 6 – 7 years
1st: Isaac Joynt, Freshford C of E Primary School
2nd: Jess Millman, Bathwick St Mary C of E Primary School
3rd: Maci Linton, Moorlands Primary School
Age 8 – 9 years
1st: Sophie Morris, The Royal High School
2nd: Laura Cannock, King Edwards Junior School
3rd: Sasha Harper, Newbridge Primary School
Age 10 years+
1st: Darcey Harding, Oldfield Park Junior School
2nd: Katie Palmer, St Stephen’s C of E Primary School
3rd: Bowen Khaira, King Edwards Junior School
Special Schools
1st: Kye Copp, Three Ways School
2nd: Kalum Rawlings, Three Ways School
3rd: Faith Hambridge, Three Ways School
The overall winner of the competition was Darcey Harding, from Oldfield Park Junior School.
The posters were judged on their fireworks safety message and artistic merit. The judges for this year’s competition were: Councillor Patrick Anketell-Jones the Mayor of Bath, two members from Avon Fire & Rescue Service, Patrick Schroder, the President of The Rotary Club of Bath and Kevin Gray and Tiffany Hardie-Albutt from Bath Building Society.
All the children that entered the competition have been given a free child voucher, that can be exchanged for a ticket to the Display when purchasing an adult ticket.
The Fireworks Display will take place on Saturday 3rd November this year at The Recreation Ground and will be run by The Rotary Club of Bath and sponsored by Bath Building Society.
Tickets can be bought from both Bath Building Society branches, Bath Rugby Ticket Office, the Students’ Union at the University of Bath and the Bath Box Office Ticket Agency (Bath Tourism Office).
Standard adult admission costs £6, children’s tickets are £4.
All money raised at this year’s event will go to the headline charities Bath City Farm and Julian House.
