Views are being sought on proposals to improve the Southside Youth and Community Centre on Kelston View in Bath, including a potential name change.
Currently operated by Youth Connect South West (YCSW), there are plans to redevelop the café and supported projects to better serve the centre’s surrounding community.
Tracey Pike, CEO of Youth Connect South West said: “As a charity that works with young people and communities across BANES, we want to best use the Southside building for young people which we are passionate about, but also as a place for the Whiteway and Twerton community which we call home.
“Hearing from Whiteway and Twerton residents about how we can best develop and support the facility is important to us, we want the building to be a place for all.”
In order to better inform the development of the centre, Youth Connect South West is holding a virtual gathering for the community on Thursday 18th February at 5.30pm.
An online survey has also been launched to identify the needs and wants of the area.
YCSW are looking at a possible renaming and rebranding of the centre and want to find out what the community thinks should be done, including developing the café.
Kalyn Mallard, Community Manager at Youth Connect South West said: “We want to listen to the community and really offer something special that inspires the people of Whiteway and Twerton, that might even include a name change for the building.”
