St John’s Church in Peasedown St John is set to continue with its active programme of children’s holiday clubs with a special treat just after Easter during the school holidays.

On Monday 4th April and Tuesday 5th April, all primary school-aged children are invited to take part in SJs Does Easter, two days of games, craft, fun, Christian teaching, and to find out about the exciting Easter story.

Rob Bubyer, the children’s pastor at St John’s Church is organising the event. He said: “This is the next of our children’s holiday clubs this year, with more lined up in 2016.

“We have two action-packed days prepared that will not only include Easter fun, games and an easter egg hunt but will also remind children what the real meaning behind the occasion is.

“SJ’s Does Easter will give children a biblical understanding of Easter.

“If you’ve ever seen an episode of the TV show, ‘24’, then you’ve seen special agent Jack Bauer go through all kinds of incredible difficulties in order to eventually save the day.

“The show is filled with twists and turns. You are left thinking, ‘Is it really possible for someone to go through SO MUCH in just 24 hours?’

“Well, Jack Bauer doesn’t have anything on Jesus. In the last 24 hours of Jesus’ life, He went through so many twists, turns, and difficulties.

“Jesus was betrayed by a friend, arrested, put on trial, convicted, beaten, mocked, and sentenced to death by being nailed to a cross – all in only 24 hours.

“This Easter we will take the children on a journey through the last 24 hours of Jesus’ life. From the Last Supper to Gethsemane, and all the way to the cross – the children will learn all about why we celebrate Easter.”

SJs Does Easter only has 50 spaces available, which are likely to fill up fast, so parents/carers are being encouraged to register their children online as soon as possible at www.stjsgroup.church/holidayclub.

The holiday club will run from 9am – 3pm in St John’s Church, Church Road, on both Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th April.

Children will need to bring a packed lunch to the event. There is also a registration fee of £5 per child, per day.

If cost is an issue, then please get in touch with the organisers. Email [email protected] or phone 01761 300410.

For more details about SJ’s Does Easter and other children’s holiday clubs at St John’s Church visit www.stjsgroup.church/holidayclub.

St John’s Church is located in Church Road, Peasedown St John (BA2 8AA).
