Road markings on the Peasedown St John bypass will be repainted at the end of the month, the council has said.
Locals had raised concerns after road markings and cats eyes on the A367 were painted over on 3rd-4th October. A speed limit of 30mph was also put in place.
However, councillor Manda Rigby, who is cabinet member for transport on Bath and North East Somerset Council said that this was a temporary measure while the road surface was being treated, and road marking would be repainted at the end of October.
She said: “ On Monday 3 October and Tuesday 4 October our Highway Maintenance team sprayed the road surface of the Peasedown St John bypass with Asphalt Preservation to extend the life of the carriageway.
“The cats eyes, etc. were taped over during that process for protection, but have now been uncovered.
“The road markings will be repainted at the end of the month and until then a temporary 30mph speed restriction is in place on the bypass.”
