The Sustainable Food Partnership (SFP) has announced the launch of the BANES Food Finder website, helping residents find local suppliers who are currently offering food delivery and takeaway services.

BANES Food Finder also includes suppliers that are open to the public, with information on how the businesses are carrying out revised social-distancing measures.

Previously hosted on the 3SG website, the list served as an invaluable resource for the Compassionate Communities Hub throughout the early weeks of lockdown.

But now, thanks to volunteer help and a charitable donation, the list has been made more extensive with its own dedicated website at banesfoodfinder.org.uk.

While the main purpose of the BANES Food Finder continues to be an important directory providing details of surplus food, affordable food and emergency food sources, the additional list that provides information about a broader range of local suppliers will continue for the time being.

Once social-distancing measures have been revised, the website will transition back to its original purpose.

Business owners are being invited to submit new entries to BANES Food Finder, using the contact form found on the website or by emailing [email protected].

Businesses who already have an existing listing are encouraged to update it themselves to ensure all information is up to date.

Both the Sustainable Food Partnership and BANES Food Finder are entirely volunteer-run organisations.
