A group of cyclists from across Bath have decided to take the ‘best bits’ from each cycling event they’ve attended over the years and incorporate them all into their own event, ‘The Rugby Sportive’.

All routes will start and finish at Corsham Rugby Club on Sunday 7th June 2020 and will pass a number of rugby clubs, some of which will be offering facilities for pitstops with both sweet and savoury offerings, together with plenty of hydration.

Already, several International Rugby Legends have agreed to participate in the ride and attend the entertainment in the afternoon.

There are three routes being offered, (circa 86 – 61 – 25 miles) along scenic country lanes and through ‘chocolate box’ villages, which should cater for riders of all abilities.

The event has been organised and will be run entirely by volunteers with all proceeds from the event going to Bath Rugby Foundation.

Family supporters are welcome to attend the post-ride celebrations at Corsham Rugby club, where there will be all types of entertainment and refreshments on offer from face painting, a ‘Village Olympics’, bouncy castles, indoor and outdoor bars and live music.

Organisers Martin Smith and Mark Barnett said: “It might be our first sportive, but we’re determined to do everything we can to make it the best and most enjoyable sportive you participate in during 2020.

“Come and see what we have to offer and join in the fun.”
