Staff at Specsavers on Westgate Street have been busy collecting raffle prizes from local businesses to give away before Christmas.
Prizes will be up for grabs every other day during December, with the final prize winner being picked on Christmas Eve.
Raffle tickets went on sale on Tuesday 9th November at £2 per strip and are available to buy in store up until the last day of the raffle, on Friday 24th December.
All the money raised will be donated to Bath Foodbank, a charity which is in extra need of support over the festive period.
Prizes include a three-course lunch for two at Chez Dominique, an afternoon tea box for two from Giddy Flamingo, two tickets for the Royal Theatre, a cut and blow dry from 12 Trim Street, a Taste of Bath food hamper, a beauty hamper from Sally’s, a jewellery voucher for The Silver Shop, a Pong cheese Christmas Extravaganza box, a voucher for Kingsmead Square Market, a cut and blow dry from Alexandra Tulloch Hair, ice-skating tickets for Bath on Ice, a chocolate hamper from Charlotte Brunswick, a voucher for Botanica Studio, a massage treatment at Lush and a £69 voucher for Specsavers.
Phil Lodge, store director at Specsavers Bath, said: “Unfortunately, so many families struggle to put food on the table over Christmas, so we’re hoping to raise as much money as possible to help people in our local community who need support.
“Thanks to the incredible generosity of local businesses, we’ve organised some fantastic prizes, and we’d encourage anyone who can to get involved with such an amazing cause.
“It will be greatly appreciated by all of us here in the store, as well as anyone using the foodbank.”
Bath Foodbank, which is part of the Trussell Trust network and Genesis Trust, provides emergency food boxes for people in crisis in Bath and the surrounding areas.
It is run by a dedicated team of volunteers and is entirely dependent on donations of food and finance.
