Local skaters will soon benefit from a brand new skatepark which is nearing completion at Alice Park in Bath.

Remaining works are set to be completed over the coming weeks, with the skatepark scheduled to open in May.

A new internal gate between the skatepark and adjacent play park will provide improved pedestrian access, alongside new bench seating and perimeter fencing.

Bath & North East Somerset Council has been working with the Alice Park Trust on the project.

Six tennis courts at the park are also being resurfaced as part of an investment into tennis in Bath and North East Somerset, and will be ready for use by July.

Councillor Rob Appleyard, Alice Park Trustee, said: “The completion of the skatepark has been a long time coming, so I’m delighted that we are now in the final stretch.

“It’s going to be a real asset for young people in the community and will help encourage them to become more active.”
