Those living in sheltered accommodation provided by Curo will be celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in style at three special events in May and June.
The events, taking place in Bath, Keynsham and Timsbury, are also open to anyone aged 60 or older living nearby, with tickets costing just £2 per person.
The street-party-style celebrations will feature live music, food and drink, songs from the 50s and 60s and there will be prizes to be won.
They will take place in Keynsham on 26th May, Timsbury on 1st June and Bath on 9th June.
Curo Livewell Officer Holly Reed has organised the celebrations.
Holly said: “After the restrictions and hardships of the pandemic, we really wanted to bring people together for some good old-fashioned fun and what better reason than this special Jubilee.
“Helping to beat isolation and loneliness is an important part of what we do across Curo sheltered housing.
“Every week there’s something happening at one of our many Livewell Hubs, from singing and Scrabble to bingo, and our ever-popular coffee mornings.”
The Platinum Jubilee events are for anyone living in Curo sheltered housing, or who receives Curo’s Independent Living Service which helps people to live life to the full in their own home.
Older people who aren’t Curo residents are welcomed, along with any carers or family members.
Tickets are essential for everyone, and can be booked by calling Holly Reed on 07779 981154, emailing [email protected] or visiting www.curo-group.co.uk/platinumjubilee.
The events are being supported by Travis Perkins Managed Services, who have contributed £3,000 through the joint Curo and Travis Perkins funding pot.
Travis Perkins Account Manager, Martyn Piper, said: “Travis Perkins are pleased to support Curo and their residents for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
“Many older residents who don’t have a close support network nearby can feel very isolated.
“So, the hope is that by attending these events people will build relationships with their wider community and enjoy the celebrations together.”
