After plans for a self-build house in a back garden in the Beacon Hill area of Bath were refused by councillors last October, another application has now been lodged.
The existing 1930s house at 11 Richmond Road sits in a plot of more than half an acre.
Last year proposals for a three-bed house within the grounds were recommended for approval by a Bath & North East Somerset Council planning officer, but refused at a planning committee meeting.
The reasons for refusal were that first-floor windows on one side would cause a harmful level of overlooking to neighbours, and that the flat roof design and large extent of glazing were not in keeping with the character of the area, while the size, scale and overall footprint would be overdevelopment.
Now the applicants are trying again, saying the revised scheme addresses the concerns raised by the committee.
Glazing has been reduced, the proposed balcony has been removed, and a low-profile pitched roof is now planned.
A new side access path to the south of the site has reduced the overall width and footprint.
The planning reference is 25/01277/FUL. The deadline for comments is 11th May.
