The event will feature festive classics performed by local musicians, live readings, and Christmas treats.
This year’s concert, at All Saints Church in Weston, will host performances from the Marshfield Male Voice Choir, Take Five Wind Quintet, Oldfield School Choir and RUH musician in residence, Frankie Simpkins.
The charity is using the event to highlight the importance of connecting, community and the care that happens within the RUH.
Frankie Simpkins, who is also Music Coordinator at Art at the Heart, said: “Being musician in residence at the RUH, is an absolute privilege all year round, but at Christmas time there is something special about it.
“Hospital in the festive season is a unique place, I can have staff and patients requesting Christmas songs and singing along together, or I can have some patients who don’t feel Christmassy at all and would rather have something different.
“As always, I approach my work completely patient led, to enhance the wellbeing of patients, staff and visitors through music.
“The children’s ward can be particularly enjoyable at Christmas, in the past I have supported a family in writing their own personalised family Christmas song, which was really special.
“I’m really looking forward to singing at the RUHX Christmas concert, bringing some festive joy to the community and supporting RUHX.”
Tickets for the concert on 10th December at 6pm cost £16 for adults and £7 for children.
