Bath & North East Somerset Council has granted a temporary traffic order which will allow closures of Upper Borough Walls and Parsonage Lane as required, starting from Monday this week, 29th September.

The order affects the entire length of the roads, including the footpaths, between 10am and 6pm, but times may be adjusted if required.

The closures will not be continual, only for occasional short periods of time when construction-related loading or unloading activity is taking place.

Any diversions will be clearly signed during closure periods.

The order will also see the suspension of the loading bay on Avon Street, near the junction with Corn Street / Riverside Coach Park, to be replaced by a temporary 30-minute waiting bay operating at all times for use by goods vehicles and construction vehicles only.

The bollards will be removed at the junction of Westgate Buildings / Saw Close to allow access into Saw Close from Westgate Buildings for authorised construction-related heavy commercial vehicles access only, and for police, fire and ambulance service vehicles as and when required.

The council adds that emergency services access needs to be maintained at the Cheap Street access under the current arrangements.
