Action being taken to help Bath and North East Somerset develop a more resilient, diverse and greener local economy with an emphasis on green skills is to be the subject of a webinar next month.

Residents and businesses from across Bath and North East Somerset are invited to join the online discussion on Monday 5th October at 5pm.

Council leader, Dine Romero, will be joined by panellists Chris George Assistant Principal, Business and Technical Skills Bath College, Rob Dawson from the council’s Economic Development team and Chris Mordaunt, the council’s Housing Standards and Improvement manager, to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the green economy and skills sector.

Councillor Romero said: “The impact of Covid-19 on our local economy has been hard hitting, affecting many businesses and individuals. As we rebuild, we need to enable a more resilient, diverse and greener local economy to emerge.

“One that helps us work towards our climate change goals and our commitment to become carbon neutral by 2030.

“Working with our partners, we’re creating a recovery and renewal programme which puts these objectives at its heart with a strong emphasis on the development of green skills across the district.”

To register for the webinar, visit: https://bathnes.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_xUcc8vpmRMOkBkB3pyYGWg.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about how to join and submit questions in advance.

The webinar will also be live-streamed on B&NES Council’s YouTube channel and will also be available afterwards for viewing.
