Residents, schools and organisations across the Bath and North East Somerset area are being encouraged to enter this year’s Bath in Bloom Garden Competition.
The competition, which always attracts a significant numbers of entries, is designed to encourage people to look after their green spaces, with judges keen to recognise environmental diversity as well as horticultural achievement.
The competition is free to enter and includes categories for allotments, front and back gardens, businesses and pubs, community groups and children.
Claire Jackson of the Bath in Bloom Committee, said: “No matter how big or small your garden, or if you are part of a community group – do take part in this celebration of gardening in our area.
“Entry is free to all. The competition is very popular with gardeners across Bath and North East Somerset and we are very keen to encourage new entrants.”
Entries in the majority of categories will be marked on the following criteria:
- Impact
- Variety and the use of a range of plants
- Colour combinations
- Originality and design
- Condition, care and sustainability
