Applications for both listed building consent and advertisement consent have been lodged with Bath & North East Somerset Council for 6 Bath Street.
Cleaning and repair works to the shopfront are proposed, along with replacing the existing non-illuminated fascia sign and illuminated hanging signs with new ones, and applying frosted window film to some of the glazing.
A replacement front door to match the colour and appearance of the existing door is also planned, along with a new outside key box.
The internal refurbishment includes the addition of a digital banking desk area in the banking hall.
No structural works are proposed. The application says that the work will be discreet and will not significantly change the building’s appearance.
It adds: “Being a Grade I listed building within a conservation area, the proposed internal and external works are an opportunity to restore and protect the building for further years.”
The deadline for anyone wishing to comment is 20th June.
