Proposal submitted to return Grade I listed property to residential use

Plans to reinstate a Grade I listed building in Widcombe to residential use have been submitted to Bath & North East Somerset Council.

The planning application relates to Mayden House Ltd at 1 Widcombe Crescent, which is currently used as offices.

The planning application says the property was originally a home and much of the crescent is still in residential use so the conversion would be “entirely in character”.

There would be fewer car journeys compared to the current office use and the property is said to have “excellent” links to local services and facilities, as well as public transport.

No internal or external works are proposed for the change of use, so the applicant says listed building consent is not required.

The planning reference is 25/00165/FUL. The deadline for comments is 13th February.
