Plans to knock down a row of derelict garages behind Wellsway in Bath and build a three-bed house on the site have been drawn up.

The application has been submitted to Bath & North East Somerset Council by Queensberry Estates.
The five single-storey garages are believed to have been built in the 1950s. They have fallen into disrepair and in the main their roofs have collapsed.
The garages are at the rear of 21c Wellsway, which is a charity shop, and face onto Bruton Avenue. They are next to the hall of Beechen Cliff Methodist Church.
The shop and rear yard are not part of the proposed redevelopment, although the property is owned by the company making the application.
The application says: “The existing garages are of no architectural merit and their demolition is considered acceptable in principle and would provide an opportunity to enhance this part of the Conservation Area.”
The proposed two-storey house would be dug into the slope and solar panels are proposed on the flat roof.
An integral garage with internal electric vehicle charging facilities is proposed.
The house would not have a garden, but the application says there is space outside both ground-floor bedrooms in the light well and a covered balcony space. There is also external storage space.
The planning reference is 24/04008/FUL. The deadline for comments is 5th December.
