Plans to turn a vacant city centre cookery school into two apartments have been lodged with Bath & North East Somerset Council.

The Guildhall in Bath

The plans are for the first and second floors at 6 Terrace Walk, above a hairdressers.

The Georgian terraced townhouse is Grade II listed so listed building consent is also being sought.

In 2009, listed building consent and planning permission was granted to convert the offices on the first and second floors into a cookery school.

It has recently ceased trading as the business was said to be no longer viable.

The planning application says the property has been marketed since May but there has been “limited” interest with no offers received: “Agents have advised that there is no realistic prospect of finding a commercial occupier having regard to current and foreseeable future market conditions.”

There is no parking with the property but the plans include internal storage for two bikes.

The planning application reference is 24/04002/FUL. The deadline for comments is 22nd November.
