A person has died after being struck by a train at Oldfield Park railway station in Bath.

The incident was reported to emergency services shortly after 11am on Wednesday 14th May.
A number of roads around the scene were closed by police while investigation work took place.
Train services between Bath Spa station and Bristol Temple Meads were disrupted, though tickets were being accepted on bus services.
The closure of the line affected services between London Paddington / Salisbury / Warminster / Frome and Bristol Temple Meads, between Portsmouth Harbour and Cardiff Central, and also between Weymouth / Westbury and Gloucester.
A statement from National Rail said: “The emergency services are dealing with an incident near the railway between Bath Spa and Bristol Temple Meads.
“To allow them to safely access the railway and carry out their work, all lines running between these stations are currently closed. Major disruption is expected until 14:30.”
Tickets were accepted, at no extra cost, on First Buses on the following routes:
- 19 – Bristol Parkway (Station) – Filton (Filton Road), Bath (Bus Station)
- 39/X39 – Bath (Bus Station), Keynsham (Church), Bristol (Temple Meads)
- 349 – Bristol (Temple Meads), Keynsham (St Johns Church)
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to a report of a casualty on the tracks at 11.10am today (14 May) on the line near Oldfield Park railway station.
“Officers, paramedics and fire attended and sadly a person was pronounced deceased.
“The incident is not thought to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said they sent a double-crewed land ambulance and an operations officer to the scene.
