A road in the centre of Bath was closed off this morning following a collision involving a pedestrian and a van.

Emergency services were called just before 10am to Broad Street in the city centre following the incident.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital, with police saying their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

A spokesperson for Avon & Somerset Police told the Bath Echo: “Officers were called to attend a collision involving a van and a pedestrian in Broad Street, Bath, at just before 10am today (Monday 12th May).

“The pedestrian, a man, has been taken to hospital to be treated for injuries, which at this stage are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.”

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 9.46am on Monday 12th May to a road traffic collision in Bath.

“We sent two double-crewed land ambulances to the scene and conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Royal United Hospital Bath.”

A number of bus services were temporarily disrupted due to the closure.
