Peasedown St John is marking the start of the festive season with the announcement of two special events taking place on Saturday 1st December, a free Christmas party and the annual light switch on.
Local children are being invited to a free Christmas Party, organised and hosted by the village’s Residents’ Association.
Featuring festive food and drink, Christmas sing-a-longs and a special visit from Father Christmas, the party is for children aged 5-11 years old. Those under 5 are invited to attend but must be accompanied by an adult.
Residents Association Chairwoman Joy Gosz said: “We want to make Christmas a one to remember for children in the community this year. We’re planning a magical afternoon with festive fun, games and seasonal snacks.
“All children that attend will receive a free present from Father Christmas.”
The party will include Peasedown St John’s first ever organised Christmas lights switch on, which adults and other members of the community are being invited to attend.
Cllr Karen Walker (Independent, Peasedown St John) added: “Christmas is a time for neighbours to get together, socialise and look back on positive highlights of the year gone by.
“We’ll have carols and mulled wine at our Christmas lights switch on. It’ll be a perfect opportunity to get into the festive spirit.”
The Peasedown St John Residents’ Association Children’s Christmas Party and Christmas Light Switch on will be held on Saturday 1st December, from 3pm – 5pm, at St John’s Community Hall (St John’s Close, BA2 8JG), with the Christmas Light Switch On taking place at 4pm.
The event is being sponsored by the Midsomer Norton and Radstock Lions Club, Curo, Travis Perkins and the Sperring Trust.
