Peasedown St John’s Party in the Park Community Festival, which was scheduled to take place Saturday 13th June, has been cancelled.
It’s one of the latest events across the country to make the announcement, following the continual spread of the coronavirus.
Party in the Park Festival Chairman, Nathan Hartley, said: “We wanted to withhold making this decision for as long as possible, but we’ve been increasingly concerned with the continual spread of Covid-19 and the terrible impact it’s having across the world, here in the UK and locally in Bath & North East Somerset.
“We’d like to thank our partners, sponsors, entertainers, stallholders and volunteers who were all lined up to help us put on another fantastic festival.
“We’ll be back in 2021!”
The organisers will continue with two initiatives that will be pushed back later into the year:
- The Party in the Park Grant Fund. The festival will still give away £500 to community groups in Peasedown St John.
- The Sara Holley Community Award. Nominations will open later in the year and be awarded to an individual/organisation that has ‘gone above and beyond’ in service to the community.
