One of the paintings on display at the fair, by Somerset artist Alce Harfield, will be put into the draw, with proceeds going to Bath Welcomes Refugees.
The volunteer-led charity harnesses the power of local relationships and the community’s goodwill to help refugees and asylum seekers feel welcome, access resources and find a new home and community.
Alce Harfield, the organiser of the Bath Art Fair, explained: “On 24th February 2022, as we were setting up our art fair and the artists were hanging their work, war broke out in Ukraine.
“We know that this had a profound effect on our artists and visitors to the fair and in response to the outpouring of love and support for all those displaced from Ukraine since this date and to all refugees from around the world who have found themselves in Bath, we wanted to find a way to support the charity.”
Titled ‘Home’, the original painting of Glastonbury Festival uses acrylic and alcohol inks and measures 30×30-inch square on a wooden panel with UV varnish.
Tickets for the prize draw to win the donated painting cost £5 each and are available to buy here.
Tickets can be bought up to the deadline of 31st March 2023, and people can buy and enter as many tickets as they wish.
Bath Welcomes Refugees will make the draw at the start of April and the winner will be contacted via email to arrange delivery.
Since the invasion a year ago, more than 300 Ukrainians have been housed by over 140 families in Bath and north-east Somerset supported by Bath Welcomes Refugees in partnership with B&NES council.
The charity continues to support people who have sought safety from other parts of the world, in particular Syria and Afghanistan.
This year’s Bath Art Fair, which runs from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th February, will feature 89 artists from all over the country, ranging from established artists to new talent participating in their first fair.
