There’s less than a week left for local men and women to secure their early bird tickets for the popular Bath Moonlight Walk, which raises vital funds for Dorothy House Hospice Care.
The 8km walk will take place around Bath city centre on Saturday 15th September, starting at 10pm from the SouthGate Shopping Centre.
The Bath Moonlight Walk is open to both men and women for the first time this year, so anyone aged over fourteen is being invited to join the fun.
Early Bird tickets are £15 each and are available until midnight next Monday, 30th July, at www.bathmoonlightwalk.org.uk.
Dorothy House cares for over 3,000 patients, family members and carers every year across Wiltshire, Somerset and Bath and North-East Somerset.
Last year’s Bath Moonlight Walk raised £60,000 towards funding vital patient care and this year the charity hopes to raise more funds, as for every £1 received from the NHS, they have to raise a further £4 to provide their services.
This year’s 1980s theme for the Bath Moonlight Walk is ‘walk back to the 80s’ and the warm-up before the walk will include a mass participation lesson in the ‘moon walk’.
Setting out from the SouthGate shopping centre, the walk takes in the main sights of Bath. Walkers will be welcomed from 8.30pm to enjoy the fun atmosphere, with a raffle to win a luxury Mulberry handbag, merchandise stalls and other entertainment.
Another first for 2018 are the discount meal vouchers available to Bath Moonlight Walkers from three local Bath restaurants; Giraffe on Dorchester street, Pizza Express on Southgate Place and Tapas Revolution on St Lawrence street.
To claim a meal voucher e-mail your team name to [email protected] or for information visit the team page link via www.bathmoonlightwalk.org.uk.
Once the early bird entry for the walk expires next Monday, a standard entry fee is available at £20 between 31st July- 9th September, followed by a late entry fee of £25 from 10th September.
Registration fees only cover the event costs so adult entrants are invited to either pledge approximately £40 in sponsorship or make a personal donation.
The Bath Moonlight Walk will be the ultimate 80s party and walkers can wear their choice of 80s outfit.

Emily Knight, Events Fundraiser, Dorothy House Hospice Care said: “We are very excited to be including men in the Bath Moonlight Walk this year and we hope ladies will bring along their husbands, Dads, brothers and friends so we can raise even more funds for Dorothy House.
“Congratulations to Aaron Vranch who was our first male walker to sign up for the Bath Moonlight Walk. Don’t forget to sign up by 30th July for early bird offer and find your best 1980’s outfit for the walk.”
Aaron Vranch, from Bath, said: “I can’t wait to do the walk with my girlfriend. We are walking in memory of her father, Paul Kosmala because Dorothy House provided such great care to both him and his family.
“It will be a fun evening and I can’t wait to get dressed up and enjoy the night while raising money for a worthy charity, plus it’s great news that men can now take part and support the hospice.”
