End-of-life charity Marie Curie is calling on people in Bath to hold a Blooming Great Tea Party in June and July to help fund vital care for those living with a terminal illness.

The charity’s fundraising appeal is a piece of cake, simply set a date to host a tea party and invite family, friends, or colleagues to tuck into a treat and catch up over a cuppa.

Every penny raised from a Blooming Great Tea Party will go towards ensuring more people have access to the care and support they need at the end of life.

Marie Curie is dependent on public donations so that it can continue caring for people in their own homes across the South West.

Donations also support the Marie Curie Information and Support services, including a telephone line which provides a listening ear to anyone dealing with any aspect of death, dying and bereavement.

Natalie Garland, Marie Curie South West Head of Fundraising, said: “Hosting a Blooming Great Tea Party is easy and great fun.

“Whether you want to bake up a storm at home or pop to the shops for some tasty treats, invite friends, family, neighbours, or colleagues, you’ll be helping support people in your local area living with a terminal illness.

“We’d encourage supporters to make the most of the extra-long bank holiday weekend in June too – a perfect occasion to raise a cuppa and some money for a blooming great cause. Just don’t forget to price your slice!”
