Residents in the Bathavon area are being invited to find out more about the action being taken by B&NES Council’s planning team to tackle the climate emergency.

The Guildhall in Bath
The meeting, being held at 5pm on Thursday 12th August on Zoom, is open to all.
It will feature an update from the planning team including how residents will be able to get involved with the consultation on the Local Plan Partial Update.
The main showcase will be on climate emergency and will include a presentation from the Chew Valley Forum on their successful approach in setting up Climate & Nature Emergency Working Groups.
The Bathavon Area Forum brings together the two forums that previously operated as Bathavon North and Cam Valley.
It now covers Bathampton; Batheaston; Bathford; Camerton; Combe Hay; Charlcombe; Claverton; Dunkerton and Tunley; Englishcombe; Freshford; Hinton Charterhouse; Kelston; Monkton Combe; Newton St Loe; North Stoke; Priston; Shoscombe; South Stoke; St Catherine; Swainswick and Wellow.
The forum is supported by Bath & North East Somerset Council and brings together public services, local organisations and residents to improve local engagement, encourage people to talk to each other and share their skills and ideas.
Councillor Kevin Guy, Leader of Bath & North Somerset Council, said: “We are keen to give people a bigger say on issues that are important to them.
“This forum allows residents from across a very diverse area to voice their opinion and make sure their feedback is heard.”
Current Forum Chair, John Adler from Freshford Parish said: “The theme for this meeting will be the climate and nature emergency.
“The planning team will be joining us to discuss planning in relation to the climate emergency with a specific focus on energy.
“I’m hoping that residents will get involved in the forum and join the webinar to not only have their say on these important local issues, but also to help shape how we can all work together across the parishes in addressing climate and nature cmergency issues at a community level.”
