The organisers of the award-winning Vitality Bath Half Marathon have announced JustGiving as the Official Online Giving Partner for the 2017 race, taking place on Sunday 12th March.

With an impressive track record in helping charity partners at events to achieve significantly higher levels of fundraising, JustGiving is the perfect match for the Vitality Bath Half, which is already the largest single day fundraising event in the South West.

One of the longest established and most popular city centre road racing events in the UK, the Vitality Bath Half Marathon has always been a fantastic platform for charity fundraising. In 2016 alone, runners raised over £2.2 million for over 130 different charities at the race.

With a record number of places reserved for the official charities in 2017, event organisers Running High Events are expecting the 15,000 places for the 36th edition of the Vitality Bath Half Marathon to sell out even quicker than in previous years.

Cancer Research UK is the Lead Charity for 2017, with Cancer Research UK Kids & Teens the official Family Fun Run Charity. The official Local Charity is Dorothy House Hospice Care, and Laureus Good for Sport Foundation is the official charity of the Vitality Run Series.

Mel Taylor, Vitality Bath Half Marathon Charity Director, said: “We are delighted to have partnered with the world’s leading online fundraising platform, JustGiving, for the 2017 Vitality Bath Half Marathon.

“It is clear that we both have a shared ambition to maximise overall charity fundraising, and to increase the proportion of reserved charity places at our event.

“We were very impressed with the resources JustGiving has developed to help charities identify key messages and timings to incentivise fundraisers both to create their donation pages and to engage with their sponsors, and also with their range of analysis tools allowing charities to monitor their fundraiser activity during the run up to the event.

“Our charity partners are always at the heart of our event and we hope to smash all previous fundraising targets for the 2017 race.”

Keith Williams, General Manager at JustGiving, commented: “JustGiving is delighted to be partnering with the Vitality Bath Half Marathon to guarantee it raises even more for good causes in 2017.

“We look forward to maximising fundraising opportunities for all runners by providing a raft of resources, such as fundraising guides, event tips and encouragement as they progress towards the big day together.

“JustGiving is committed to using the best the web has to offer to help all good causes raise even more money and change more lives.”

JustGiving launched in February 2001 to help people support the causes they care about more easily. Fifteen years on, more than £3 billion has been raised for good causes on JustGiving, £1.5 billion of which has been in the last four years.

The Vitality Bath Half Marathon starts and finishes in Great Pulteney Street. The two-lap 13.1 mile course through the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bath is renowned for its massive crowd support and fast flat course, ideal for beginners, charity runners and athletes looking for a PB.

Each year the race welcomes a strong British elite field and a large number of celebrities who are attracted by the stunning setting, fantastic crowd support and the promise of a fast finishing time.

Places are selling fast for the 2017 Vitality Bath Half Marathon and runners are encouraged to sign up soon in order to secure their place on the start line.
