The Bath-based homelessness charity Julian House has launched a fundraising appeal, calling for donations to help it meet rising demand and increased costs.

With cuts to public funding for the services it provides, Julian House relies on donations from the public and fundraising to keep running.
The charity provides a lifeline for vulnerable individuals in the local community, including those who are rough sleeping or recovering from homelessness.
The appeal is a timely reminder that homelessness is a problem that persists throughout the year, not just in the winter, when people forced to sleep on cold streets creates greater sympathy from the public.
Helen Bedser, Chief Executive of Julian House, said: “Rough sleeping is only the most visible sign of a problem in our society.
“The signs of someone’s struggle may not always be obvious. Hidden homelessness, addiction, trauma or abuse is just as devastating for those experiencing it – and harder to tackle.”
Despite the rising number of people in need of support, Julian House is warning that its future funding is at risk while the government considers its long-term spending plans.
This year, Julian House is expecting costs to rise by around £165,000 due to the increase in employer contributions to National Insurance.
This increase will put a real strain on their ability to deliver high-quality services, the charity has said.
Helen Bedser continued: “We cannot face this crisis alone. Our job is to balance these different demands on our funding and ensure Julian House can continue its mission to support the most vulnerable and isolated people in our communities all year round.”
