Children’s hospice at home charity Jessie May is appealing for choirs and bands across the Bath area to volunteer their voices throughout the Christmas period.

The charity, whose nurses provide vital respite care and emotional support to families across Bath, is looking for singing groups and bands to offer their musical talents and perform throughout December.

Singing groups are invited to perform from 1st December at Clifton Down Shopping Centre, who have chosen Jessie May as their nominated charity for 2018/19.

While the live music is enjoyed by visitors to the shopping centre, any money raised through bucket collections will go towards funding the charity’s nurses, who support families in the Bath and Bristol area, and beyond.

Julian Withers, Head of Fundraising and Communications at Jessie May, said: “Christmas is fast-approaching and we’re now looking to fill the shopping centre with music to get everyone into the festive spirit!

“We’re looking for choirs and other musical groups to fill a slot – or slots! – and perform in the shopping centre to help raise money for our charity.

“As their main charity partner, Clifton Down Shopping Centre has very kindly invited us to fill the centre with music throughout December.

“We’re now looking for a lively line-up of performers to keep everyone entertained and help us celebrate the festive season, while raising funds for Jessie May at the same time.

“We know the run-up to Christmas can be a hectic time, so we hope the addition of some lovely voices in the shopping centre will make a merry mood, and also inspire people to donate.

“So if you can lend your voice, even just for a couple of hours, please get in touch with the Jessie May Fundraising Team so we can book you in. We’re so looking forward to celebrating Christmas with the shopping centre and all our supporters – let the countdown begin!”

Charlotte Jarrett, Centre Manager of Clifton Down Shopping Centre, said: “We have traditionally enjoyed a wealth of musical entertainment during December, bringing a feeling of warmth and festivity to our visitors.

“We are looking forward to another vibrant mix for 2018 so please do join us and celebrate both the Christmas season and our partnership with deserving local charity Jessie May.”

If your choir/singing group is able to perform at Clifton Down Shopping Centre in support of Jessie May, contact the Fundraising Team on 0117 9582174 or [email protected]
