Hundreds of local residents are expected to attend Peasedown St John’s sixth Christmas in the Park tomorrow, organised by members of the award-winning Party in the Park festival team.
Christmas in the Park will feature live music and carols from the 20-piece Bath Spa Band, hot food and drink, a visit from Santa, festive puppetry and a range of Christmas stalls.
Sing-a-longs will be led by members of Peasedown St John Methodist Church, and snow has even been guaranteed for the event.
Jeannie Crawford is the Festival Team’s Secretary. She commented: “With this being our sixth Christmas in the Park, it’s really become a key part of the festive season, with many families planning their holidays and seasonal adventures around the event.
“Every year, the team try to create a magical event so everyone goes home feeling just a bit more excited about Christmas. Whether it’s Santa’s Grotto, Christmas music, mulled wine, festive craft stalls, or even snow – we have something for everyone.”
The festivities are being sponsored by Tesco, with three of their local stores all providing produce and edible goods to feed the hungry festival-goers on the day.
“The support from the community has been great”, said Karen Walker, who has coordinated the bookings, “the cost of putting on such an event isn’t cheap, but thanks to the generosity of Tesco, we’re able to host a magical occasion that won’t be forgotten in a while.
“In fact, the support from the community, whether it’s from businesses, organisations or residents themselves, has enabled us to reach this December’s milestone.
“This upcoming Christmas in the Park is the 14th event organised by the team. A fantastic achievement for Peasedown.”
Christmas in the Park is a family event, for people of all ages, on Saturday 17th December, from 1 pm – 4 pm at Beacon Hall, Peasedown St John.
Attendees are encouraged to walk to the event or park on Orchard Way.
Event-goers are asked to wrap up warm. The PA for the event will be provided by St John’s Church.
