Avon Fire & Rescue Service said: “Crews from Bath, Hicks Gate and Kingswood attended an incident at a spa facility on Hot Bath Street just before 7pm last night.

“On arrival, firefighters found a small electrical fire in a storage area which caused flooding in the building.

“Firefighters remained on scene supporting staff to bring business back to normal.”

Today the spa’s website says: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Thermae Bath Spa will be closed on Friday 14th June.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
