More gas pipe upgrade work is set to take place near Bath, with a road closure planned in the village of Freshford.

Wales & West Utilities is set to carry out work on the gas network in the Church Lane area.
The work will be ongoing between 27th – 31st October, to coincide with the school holidays, and is vital to ensuring gas continues to flow safely and reliably to homes and businesses across the area.
The gas emergency and pipeline service has worked with Bath & North East Somerset Council to plan the project, and it has been agreed that a road closure will be in place on the junction of Church Lane, Crowe Lane, Dark Lane, and New Road throughout. Motorists are advised to allow sufficient travel time.
Wales & West Utilities’ Simon Lee, who is managing the work, said: “We have planned these works to coincide with the school holidays to minimise impact to motorists.
“We know that working in areas like this is not ideal, and but it is essential to make sure we keep the gas flowing to homes and businesses in the area, and to make sure the gas network is fit for the future.
“While most of the gas network is underground and out of sight, it plays a central role in the daily lives of this community.
“Whether it’s heating your home, making the family dinner or having a hot bath, we understand how important it is for your gas supply to be safe and reliable and there when you need it.
“This work is essential to keep the gas flowing to local homes and businesses today, and to make sure the gas network is ready to transport green gases in the future.”
