Community groups, charities and social enterprises across Bath that are looking to scale up their activities to help tackle the climate emergency are being invited to attend a free upcoming event.
The event is being organised by Bath and North East Somerset Council and local third sector group, 3SG.
Taking place on 18th September at Bath City Football Club, it will signpost resources and support to help local organisations build on existing environmental work or start new projects.
This will include advice from funders and experts and a chance to hear inspirational local stories.
Councillor Sarah Warren, cabinet member for Climate Emergency, said: “In the context of Bath and North East Somerset Council having declared a climate emergency, there is a big opportunity for local environmental groups to increase their activities in response.
“Community engagement is one of our priorities in responding to the climate emergency, so we are delighted to be working with 3SG in welcoming people in the local community who have concepts for environmental projects and are happy to share ideas with others.”
Speakers will include representatives from Bath and North East Somerset Council, the Bath & West Community Energy Fund, Wessex Water and other local organisations.
Themed group discussions will take place on issues such as plastic-free communities, community energy, biodiversity, re-use and recycling.
