Bath & North East Somerset Council marked national Armed Forces Day, which takes place on Saturday 29th June, by raising the flag.

The event was attended by the Chair of the Council, Councillor Karen Walker; the Mayor of Bath, Councillor Michelle O’Doherty, and the leader of the council, Councillor Kevin Guy.

Councillor Karen Walker, Chair of the Council, said: “I’m honoured to be marking British Armed Forces Day to show our appreciation for those who serve our country.

“Together with all other local authorities, Bath & North East Somerset Council has pledged to uphold the Armed Forces Covenant, which is a promise by the nation that those who serve or have served, and their families, are treated fairly.”
