The offer, for Remembrance Day and Remembrance Sunday, includes Park & Ride, metrobus and Airport Flyer services.

Free travel is available anywhere in the West of England region for:

  • Members of the armed forces in uniform or wearing medals
  • Members of the armed forces who present a valid identification card
  • Members of the cadet forces in uniform, and
  • Veterans who display valid identification such as the MOD-issued Veteran’s Badge or wear medals.

Doug Claringbold, managing director for First West of England, said: “Remembrance Day and Remembrance Sunday are important opportunities for all of us to remember family, friends and others who have been lost in war, whether servicemen and women or civilians.

“Many of our employees have served in the military or have friends and family members who are former or active members of the Armed Forces, so this time of year is particularly significant across our sites.

“We hope free travel on our services will make it as easy as possible for as many veterans, Armed Forces personnel and cadets to attend Remembrance services and events in the region.

“Our drivers may also pull over where safe to do so to honour both the two-minute silence at 11am on Remembrance Day and on Remembrance Sunday so we thank our customers for their patience in advance.”
