Keynsham Music Festival, now one of the country’s largest community events celebrating music and arts, is taking place this week.

Events so far have included the Bath U3A swing band On The Edge who performed at Keynsham Methodist Church on Tuesday, an evening of poetry at Temple Court with Jo Eades and Mark Dando on Wednesday, and a performance on the Top Stage in Memorial Park of The Magic Flute by touring company Opera in a Box last night (Thursday).

There’s more tonight, including a concert at St John’s Church by the Good Afternoon Choir & Black Sheep Harmony and a Komedy Night on the Top Stage.

The Big Weekend in the park tomorrow and Sunday is jam-packed with entertainment. Visit keynshammusicfestival.co.uk to find out more.

Run by an independent charity, the festival costs more than £100,000 to stage each year.

The money is raised from a Keynsham Town Council grant, local business sponsorships, trader concessions, some ticketed events and bucket collections, so visitors this weekend are asked to make a donation if they can afford to.
