Emergency services respond to welfare incident in centre of Bath

Police and other emergency services dealt with a concern for welfare incident at an address in Lower Borough Walls in Bath on Sunday afternoon, Sunday 22nd February.

Police remained at the scene last last night, Sunday 22nd February

Crews were called to the scene at around 4.25pm, and a multi-agency response continued for a number of hours.

Officers said they did not believe there was any wider risk to the public and thanked people in the area for their patience and cooperation while enquiries continued.

A spokesperson for Avon & Somerset Police told the Echo: “Officers are involved in a multi-agency response to a concern for welfare incident.

“Emergency services were called to the scene at around 4.25pm today (Sunday 22 February).

“We do not believe there to be any wider risk to the public at this stage.”

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 4.27pm on Sunday 22nd February to an incident in Bath.

“We sent one double-crewed land ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, and the hazardous area response team to the scene.”

Avon Fire & Rescue Service confirmed they mobilised a crew to the scene to assist with the incident.
