Bath & North East Somerset Council says a damaged drainage pipe was discovered following an investigation into the cause of standing water not discharging properly.

Two-way traffic signals will be in place until 3.30pm on Friday 2nd December.

The damaged pipe needs replacing and as forecasted low temperatures increase the risk of any standing water freezing, the local authority has implemented temporary traffic management to allow the emergency works to take place.

Councillor Manda Rigby, cabinet member for Transport, said: “We’re aware Bath is experiencing an influx of visitors now the Christmas Market has begun, but our priority is the safety of the public and therefore these emergency works are necessary.

“The temporary traffic lights will be removed before the weekend.”
