Members of the public, businesses and stakeholders are invited to share their views on the fire service’s future plans and proposed increase in Council Tax before the survey closes on Friday, 7th February.
There is a proposed £5 increase, for an average Band D household, in the fire and rescue part of the Council Tax to boost funding for the service.
Responses from the public are vital as they will help ensure the fire service effectively manages risks, provides value for money, and remains a good place to work.
The Service Plan outlines key commitments to enhancing community safety, including fire prevention, risk reduction, and emergency response.
With the input of its community, the fire service must make important decisions while maintaining the highest possible standards.
Chief Fire Officer Simon Shilton said: “As a service, our main aim is to make our communities safer and we do that by preventing fires through education, protecting you in your homes and your places of work, and by responding to fires.
“We are now one year into our four-year plan and what you think about our progress matters to us and that’s why it’s important that you take part in this survey, to make your voice heard.”
“As with many public sector organisations, we are facing some real financial constraints, and we must be honest about the challenges we face in maintaining our level of service.
“However, the safety of our communities remains our top priority, and we are committed to working with local people, partners, and staff to ensure that we make the best use of every pound we receive.”
People can take part in the short online survey here until 12pm on Friday 7th February.
