The four trees that were knocked down and damaged on the London Road in Bath last month are due to be replaced with new trees this Friday 3rd June, subject to weather conditions.
The damage is believed to have been caused by vehicle impact during the weekend of 30th April – 1st May.
The replacement trees that have been selected are the same size and species as the original trees and have been container grown so they can be planted at this time of year and will establish and grow even though it is outside the usual planting season for trees.
As the trees are of a large size they are being delivered on an HGV, which will involve reducing the lanes going into Bath on London Road from two to one temporarily.
However, this will be done outside of peak traffic times and will be carried out as quickly as possible in order to minimise traffic disruption.
The Council have apologised in advance for any inconvenience that may be caused.
