The West of England Combined Authority has relaxed time restrictions on the use of concessionary bus passes to aid the vaccination of residents across the area.

Passes are now valid at all times, up to Friday 26th February, in Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

North Somerset Council has also relaxed their time restrictions.

West of England Mayor Tim Bowles said: “Getting vaccines rolled out and into the arms of our families and loved ones is the most crucial step we can take to get us back to normality and defeat this virus.

“I want to make sure that nothing holds back that process, so all concessionary bus pass holders will be able to use their passes at any time to get to and from their vaccination appointment.

“We must also continue to follow the rules about hands, face and space and to stay home so we ease pressure on the NHS and save lives while the vaccine rollout continues.”

The Combined Authority has said it will consider an extension to the time period if needed and will respond to any change to Government guidance within that period, as necessary.
