A concerned resident has flagged up safety fears about the zebra crossing on London Road West at the Batheaston end of Bailbrook Lane.
A plea for action has been lodged with Bath & North East Somerset Council on the FixMy Street website – https://fix.bathnes.gov.uk/
The report says of the crossing: “It’s located on a sharp corner and unfortunately vehicles are either not seeing (or ignoring) pedestrians wanting to cross here.
“It is a weekly occurrence and with lots of young families on Bailbrook Lane and surrounding roads, it’s not a safe crossing point.”
The report requests that the position and visibility of the zebra crossing is looked at or a set of traffic lights installed, adding: “Unfortunately, speeding traffic on the main road makes adults and children unsure of whether they can rely on vehicles to stop at this crossing.”
The council responded saying it would review the details submitted and inspect the site if necessary.
