Community groups invited to apply for Bath neighbourhood funding

Community organisations are being invited to apply for funding to deliver projects aimed at improving neighbourhoods across Bath.

Bath & North East Somerset Council has opened a new round of applications for its Community Infrastructure Levy Neighbourhood Fund.

The scheme uses money collected from new developments to support community-led projects that respond to local needs and provide practical benefits for residents.

More than £2.8 million has been awarded to 80 projects across Bath since the fund was launched in 2015.

In the previous round, announced in May, projects received more than £270,000 between them. These included plans for a new football cage at Royal Victoria Park, a sensory garden at Oldfield School and pedestrian safety improvements in Lambridge.

Local organisations can now submit proposals through the council’s website, with applications remaining open until midnight on Wednesday 26th August 2026.

Councillor Kevin Guy, leader of Bath & North East Somerset Council, said: “Communities know best what their neighbourhoods need.

“This funding gives local groups the opportunity to turn ideas into practical improvements that benefit residents and help shape the future of Bath. Please come forward with your applications.”

The council administers the neighbourhood portion of Community Infrastructure Levy funding within Bath. In North East Somerset, the money received through the levy is allocated by town and parish councils.

Applications will be considered by a panel of ward councillors before final decisions are made by the council leader.
