The 6,000 sq. ft store, which replaces the retailer’s former shop on Shaftesbury Road, will employ around 30 people.
The store will open between 7am – 11pm from Monday – Saturday, and from 11am – 5pm on Sunday.
The new Co-op includes parcel collection services through Amazon Lockers and DPD, an in-store bakery, a free cash machine (ATM) and parking.
Delivery of groceries from the store is also available through Deliveroo and Uber Eats.
Roy Mackenzie, Manager of Co-op’s Oldfield Park store, said: “The store has a great look, and we are enjoying welcoming Members and customers into their Co-op.
“It is our aim is to operate at the heart of local life, and we’ve worked to develop the range, choice and added services to create a compelling offer to serve and support our community, locally and conveniently.
“This includes a focus on delivering member value so that the people who own our business, our members, benefit every time they shop.”
A plastic recycling unit is available in the store to enable the community to recycle ‘soft plastics’, including crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals and yoghurt pots, biscuit wrappers and pet food pouches.
