Bath & North East Somerset Council has granted listed building consent for internal and external alterations for the change of use of 2 Gay Street from vacant offices to a six-bedroom townhouse.
Gay Street was named after Robert Gay, a surgeon and MP for Bath who was the original owner of the site.
The land was leased by him to John Wood the Elder who started the design for Gay Street in 1735.
Number 2 is an end terrace as in 1870, Number 1 was demolished to make a new route through to Victoria Park.
The only alterations to the exterior as part of the conversion will be repairs and stone cleaning.
Changes inside will be kept to the minimum required to allow the building to return to its original intended use.
The offices have been vacant since June 2023. The five-storey building was on the market last year with a guide price of £1.3 million.
