A number of changes have been implemented on the 768 bus route between Farrington Gurney to Bath, following an announcement from the previous operator that they will no longer be running the service.
The previous operator of the service, Citistar, gave notice last week that it will no longer operate the service.
The new operator, CT Coaches, was secured to take over from yesterday, Monday 1st August, with a retimed service.
Morning and evening commuter journeys on the service will continue to operate as normal, including retaining the 17:40 departure from Bath, though there are some exceptions.
These are:
- The new operator is not able to run the service on Saturdays;
- The 09:40 journey from Farrington Gurney to Midsomer Norton and the 16:05 journey from Bath, which are both very poorly used, will no longer operate.
- The 07:57 service through Timsbury will cease – but the 179 service provides an alternative for services to Bath.
- The 179 service is also due to be rerouted from 4th September 2016 to provide a daily service for Farrington Gurney to Midsomer Norton, Radstock and Bath.
The Council say they continue to invest more than £1million in bus services as well as Dial-a-Ride services, which are available across the district for anyone who cannot use a routed bus service to reach their destination.
